英文專利翻譯中的多義詞現象

在英文中，許多單詞屬于多義詞。在閱讀英文讀物，尤其是科技文章是，經常會遇到這類詞，他們詞義繁多，專業性強，若按照眾所周知的詞義翻譯會解釋不通。這時就需要根據單詞在該領域的含義進行翻譯。比如：

Power

With the develpoment of electric power system and advancement of technology, the demands for synchronization geenrator excitation equipment are increasing.

隨著科學技術的進步和電力系統的發展，對同步發電機勵磁裝置的要求也在不斷提高。（譯成“電力”）

This is a 20 power binoculars microscope.

這是一架20倍的雙目顯微鏡（譯成“倍”）

取M的n次方（譯成“方，冪”）

以上知識舉幾個小例子，總之一詞多義現象非常普遍，在翻譯過程當中一定要十分小心，哪怕是某個專利領域的也是如此。
